Amazon erweitert seine Cloud-Computing-Dienstleistungen um einen echten Streaming-Service für Video-/Audiodaten. Der Amazon CloudFront genannte Streamingdienst setzt den Flash Media Server von Adobe ein, um Videos über RTMP-/RTMPE-Protokoll auszuliefern.

With Amazon CloudFront, you can create streaming distributions for your on-demand content. These streaming distributions use Adobe’s Flash® Media Server (version 3.5) to deliver your content using the RTMP protocol and several of its variants.

Für alle, die keine eigene Streaming-Hardware betreiben möchten und/oder initiale Kosten scheuen, scheint dies eine interessante Alternative zu sein.
